Mrs. Peter Kenneth MacHardy (Annie R.)

Annie MacHardy, 38, was the wife of Peter MacHardy, 31. She was a United States citizen traveling alone and was lost in the Lusitania disaster on 7 May 1915.

Annie and Peter had been married for about 4 years. She worked at Macy’s in New York City as a waitress. Court documents say that Annie had an unmarried daughter named Catherine A. MacHardy who lived in Scotland and was a British subject.

Had it not been for her loss in the Lusitania sinking, Annie had intended to return to Peter in New York and continue her job.

The Mixed Claims Commission decreed that the Government of Germany was to pay Peter MacHardy $4,000.00 for the death of his wife.
