Miss Bessie Barbour

Second cabin passenger Bessie Barbour was a British national from Greencock, Scotland, but living in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. She survived the Lusitania sinking and was treated at the Queenstown hospital before she was released.

Aboard Lusitania she had roomed with Bertha Prescott. Bessie survived, Bertha did not. Bessie wrote a letter to Bertha’s family dated 30 June 1915, describing the events the day the Lusitania sank.
