Mr. Frederick Cole Amos Hubbard

Frederick Hubbard, 24, lived at South-bury Road in Enfield, England.  Fred was a well-known footballer, playing for Old Park Athletic, for which he was also secretary for two years.  He was also a representative of H. Machlestein and Co., rubber merchants.  He sailed on the Lusitania‘s previous voyage on April 17th to visit the firm’s headquarters.

Fred Hubbard was lost in the sinking.  His body, if recovered, was never identified.

  1. I love this biog – this is my great uncle and I only found out about him 2 years ago when looking through my Nans old photos etc. She has a sympathy card for his passing even though she was 2 years old when it happened. Ever since seeing this I have such an interest in all things Lusitania, and this website is so helpful.

    • Thank you for the kind words, Cheryl! I am glad that you like the site. If there’s anything about your great uncle that you’d like to contribute to the site, please let me know.
