Computer simulation of the U-20’s attack on Lusitania

From our friends at Lusitania Online are the results of a computer simulation of the U-20’s attack on the Lusitania. These simulations take into account Schweiger’s over estimation of the Lusitania‘s speed to figure out where would be the most likely point of torpedo impact. The simulation also runs calculations for whether it would have been possible for conscientious objector Charles Voegele to defy orders and what that delay would have done to where the torpedo would have impacted the ship. It makes for some fascinating reading. You can read about the computer simulation and Charles Voegele from the mid-to-bottom part of the page “Hunters.”
