Titanic Centennial Commemoration

14 – 15 April 2012 marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. While this website does not really deal with matters of the Titanic (a subject best dealt by Encyclopedia Titanica), let us take a moment to reflect on this event as it happened 100 years ago.  Let us remember the lives lost and forever changed the night when Titanic disappeared beneath the waves.

I have a video of the commemoration ceremony aboard the RMS Queen Mary last night, organized by the Southern California chapter of the Steamship Historical Society of America. Unfortunately, due to the file size, I don’t have time to upload it right now to share with everyone. Which is fine, I guess, since that will spare you my rendition of “Nearer My God to Thee”/”Bethany” – I thought I was singing quietly to blend with everyone else, but it seems that I was just flat instead. Oops.
