Miss Margaret Ballantyne

Margaret Ballantyne, 29, was returning to the United Kingdom from the United States, where she worked as a children’s nanny. Her father instructed her to return due to the outbreak of the First World War, so she booked passage on the Lusitania. Margaret survived the Lusitania disaster. She never talked much about her experience, but did say that she was in the water for a long time before she was rescued.

Margaret went on to marry and have two sons.
