Item 230: Letter from Julia Bishop dated 15 March 1916

2536 Second Ave West
Vancouver B.C.

Mch 15th/16

Dear Mrs. Prichard

I duly rec[eive]d y[ou]r letter of Jan[uar]y 27th, enclosing another paper with portrait of y[ou]r dear one & immediately wrote the other gentleman & en sent the paper, (that was on Feb of 19th) & have waited until now for reply but have not rec[eive]d one. Strange to say, soon after receiving y[ou]r last letter I rec[eive]d the enclosed from the gentleman I wrote to in December. So I may hear yet from the other & of course if I do will forward to you. Out here one[‘]s plans are so uncertain & you may get shifted far away to another place of business with very short notice. That is evidently the case with Mr. Hanes, as I did not write the address he has written from, but quite in a another part he was living when I wrote in Dec. You see he seems to have remembered the face, but not on the Trawler. One can understand that. I thank you for y[ou]r kind sympathy regards my sister. Should I ever be in y[ou]r district shall do myself the pleasure of calling on you if I may. I hope if the war is over to return to England in the late Fall. I feel so pleased to have been able to do any little thing for you & very sorry I have been unable to get you more information. I trust you are trying to bear up but know full well how hard it must be for you. With very kind regards.

Y[ou]rs very sincerely
J. Bishop
