Item 237: Letter from Howard Cross concerning Ambrose Cross, dated 16 November 1915

14, Leadenhall Street,
London, E.C.

16 . N[?] . 15 .

Madam,

Your letter of 12th Au[gu]st[?] to Mr. A.B. Cross has been sent to me as I am looking after his affairs while he is serving with His Majesty’s Forces abroad.

I am afraid cannot help you in any way in your quest: Mr. Cross mentioned very few names when talking of the Lusitania disaster – chiefly of those people at whose table he sat in the saloon: but immpt[?] these people I can confidently say I never heard him mention your son’s name.

I therefore return the photograph you sent & hope you may be able to obtain from some other source the information you require.

Y[ou]rs faithfully,
Howard Cross

[Prichard’s note: Ask for man’s address in army]
